Mission

Pueblo County Department of Social Services expects and assists families and individuals to be as self reliant as possible. This is accomplished by providing innovative and flexible social and economic services aimed at improving individual functioning, strengthening families, eliminating family violence and reducing poverty.

Mandated

To provide protective services to children and adults, income maintenance, medical and food assistance to eligible individuals and families, and self-sufficiency services to assistance recipients.

Services Provided

  • Child Welfare Services, including protective services, foster care, adoption and adolescent services
  • Adult services, including protective services, financial assistance, and options for long-term care
  • Basic cash assistance for eligible individuals and families, including food and medical assistance
  • Self-sufficiency services to enable recipients to obtain employment and become self-sufficient
  • Child support services

Colorado Benefit Management System

On October 26, 2009, a new website allowing clients to perform an elibigility screen as well as check their benefits will be placed into production.  The link is as follows:
